Choose a colour for your surface.
Gravel surfaces look great provided they are regularly maintained. As well as being subjected to wear and tear from use, they are also affected by the weather, which causes the material to erode. Furthermore, if the sub-base is not prepared correctly, the surface will not last. Parkdecor® can solve these problems.

If you need a crushed stone surface in a specific colour, you must not only find a quarry where this material is extracted. You must also ensure that the material has the correct composition required for a durable crushed stone surface. A further problem arises during maintenance when this stone runs out. Finding a similar one is often impossible. Moreover, the stone ‘ages’ and gradually changes colour. If you are considering a standard crushed stone surface, make sure you have several tonnes of material in stock. With Parkdecor, however, you can be sure that your crushed stone surface will retain its colour and that we will always supply you with maintenance material of the same quality. You can see this for yourself at Moritzburg Castle, where the film *Three Nuts for Cinderella* was shot and where this surface has been in place for over 20 years.
02
Gravel surfaces require maintenance, as they are subject to wear and tear from use and material erosion. When laying them, you must take the slope of the terrain into account and, if necessary, install a drainage system or even a sewerage system. However, even this does not always prevent plants from growing through the material, as a gravel surface always retains some water to a certain extent. Parkdecor, on the other hand, is water-permeable and does not require such measures. Thanks to its water permeability, there is also significantly less erosion (wash-away) of the material. It is also easy to repair, as it is more durable than traditional gravel and therefore does not develop any deep unevenness. Furthermore, minor damage will even itself out over time.
03
The key to the correct installation of a crushed stone surface is always to ensure the sub-base is prepared as thoroughly as possible and that compaction is carried out at every stage (layer) of construction. When constructing a crushed stone surface, a protective (base), dynamic (middle) and wearing (top) course are used. If the surface is not prepared thoroughly enough, the base layer may become visible over time in a standard crushed stone surface. Even the slightest unevenness, combined with the presence of water, can cause some grains to work their way up to the surface, ruining the aesthetic appearance. Such a surface then needs to be dismantled and rebuilt. However, if you use Parkdecor, we will also supply you with a dynamic (middle) layer in the same colour. Should a problem arise anywhere, the materials complement each other perfectly and aggregate particles do not usually protrude to the surface.
