How to lay Parkdecor®

To ensure that the Parkdecor crushed stone surface is laid in accordance with the correct technical procedures and to the required standard, we provide a ‘supervision’ service, which involves our personal involvement and oversight of the construction process.

Parkdecor® is a purely mineral product ideal for creating surfaces, paths, gardens and other areas intended for foot and vehicle traffic with a standard load capacity of 7.5 tonnes; in some cases, however, it is capable of withstanding even greater loads, depending on the subsoil.

It is available in five standard natural colour variants. When carrying out projects using Parkdecor®, we pride ourselves on taking an individual approach to each customer; we provide free expert advice, including on-site supervision, during installation.

The key is the preparation of the sub-base, but every layer plays a part

01

Excavation and compaction

Before laying the tiles, it is important to excavate a layer of soil. The depth of the excavated layer depends on the specific dimensions and intended use. The excavated surface must be perfectly levelled and compacted. Any imperfections will affect the quality of the entire Parkdecor surface.

02

Layers and compaction techniques

The individual layers then need to be levelled and compacted again. Furthermore, each layer requires a different compaction technique to ensure that the surface remains permeable and strong.

03

Implementation

We must not compact the top layer with a vibrating plate; instead, we need to use a roller with a specific weight and pressure.

It goes without saying that we can lend you all the necessary tools and equipment for laying a Parkdecor® gravel surface.

We consider

We lay Parkdecor in a single layer. We level it to the required surface, to a thickness of approximately 5 cm, usually using levelling boards or a rake.

We’re rolling

Once levelled to the required plane, Parkdecor should ONLY BE ROLLED. The Parkdecor tamping system must never be vibrated!

We sprinkle

Once the Parkdecor has been properly compacted, we then water it. Ideally, this should be done using a spray bottle or a shower head. As soon as water begins to pool slightly on the Parkdecor, we stop watering.
